POOTOOGOOK, PUDLATINUIT, 1919 - 1985

Pudlat Pootoogook (1919–1985) was a graphic artist and sculptor from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut. His wife, Sarni Pootoogook, and his brother Eegyvudluk Pootoogook were both graphic artists.

Pudlat’s prints were included in the Annual Cape Dorset Print Collection in 1964/65. His work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and France in exhibitions such as The Arctic/L’arctique organized by UNESCO in 1983. His work can also be found in the collection at the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and the Art Gallery of Winnipeg, among others.
