BiographyJohn D. Muench (1915-1993), taught printmaking at RISD from 1965 to 1976. He served as the head of the printmaking department. He was an established painter and lithographer. He gained international success, collected by permanent collections like thr Bibliotheque National in Parid, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Japan's University in Osaka and the National Museum in Jerusalem. He died in Portland, ME, on August 13 from injuries suffered during a car accident.
