CLAPCOTT, HELEN
BRITISH, b. 1952
in 1978. She is especially well known for her meticulously crafted depictions of post industrial
North England and is one of a handful of modern artists still working with egg tempera. Clapcott
has exhibited her work in solo exhibitions throughout the UK and in group shows further afield,
She has received numerous awards and honours throughout her career including the David
lVurray prize and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation scholarship. She continues to paint
from her home in [Vlacclesfield and visits her hometown of Stockport regularly.
